Preparing for the PSHS-NCE: A Parent’s Perspective on What Truly Helps Students Succeed
Fri Jan 02 2026

Preparing for the PSHS-NCE is not just a student’s journey. For parents, it is an emotional balancing act filled with hope, fear, and countless questions. Will my child be ready? Are we choosing the right support? Are we doing enough? For April Dianne Gavina Miguel, the journey of preparing her daughter for the PSHS-NCE was both exciting and nerve-racking. Like many parents, she wanted more than just high scores. She wanted her child to grow confident, disciplined, and mentally prepared for one of the most demanding entrance exams in the country. This is her story and why she believes the right review program makes all the difference. The Fear and Uncertainty Before the PSHS-NCE Before the PSHS-NCE, April shared that the preparation phase was filled with uncertainty. “As a parent, watching my daughter prepare for the PSHS-NCE was both exciting and nerve-racking.” The exam is known for its fast pace, advanced problem-solving, and pressure-filled environment. Like many parents, she worried not only about academic readiness but also about how her child would handle stress, time constraints, and self-doubt. At this stage, many families turn to review centers hoping for structure, guidance, and reassurance. But not all review programs offer the same kind of preparation. Not Just a Review, but Guided Training What stood out early on was how different the experience felt. “What truly made a difference in that journey was iKnow Review Center. Their program did not feel like a typical review—it felt like a guided training that steadily built my child’s readiness.” Instead of simply covering topics, the PSHS-NCE review focused on how students think. Lessons were structured to train students to analyze questions, manage their time wisely, and approach unfamiliar problems calmly. This approach eased April’s worries. She saw that her daughter was not just memorizing formulas but developing skills that mattered during the actual exam. Observed Changes in Her Child As weeks passed, the changes became clear. “iKnow helped my daughter understand how to think, not just what to study.” April noticed improvements that went beyond academics: Stronger problem-solving skills Better time management during practice exams A calmer approach to difficult questions Increased independence when studying These changes are crucial for the PSHS-NCE, where pressure can easily overwhelm even academically strong students. Confidence Gained Through Balanced Support One of the most meaningful aspects for April was the balance between challenge and encouragement. “What I appreciated most as a parent was the balance—academic rigor paired with encouragement.” Students were pushed to improve, but never made to feel discouraged. Teachers challenged them while creating a supportive environment where mistakes became learning opportunities. This balance helped her daughter gain confidence without fear, a quality that parents know is essential during high-stakes exams like the PSHS-NCE. Why iKnow Academic Hub Truly Stood Out In the end, April realized that the preparation went far beyond the exam itself. “iKnow played a key role in preparing my daughter not only for the exam itself, but for the level of thinking and resilience expected of future PSHS students.” For parents, this is the true measure of success. A review program should not just prepare students to pass, but prepare them to thrive in a demanding academic environment. April confidently recommends iKnow to parents who want more than surface-level exam drills. A Message to Parents Preparing for the PSHS-NCE If you are currently preparing your child for the PSHS-NCE, remember this: the right review program should build confidence, discipline, and resilience alongside academic mastery. If you want a review program that builds confidence, discipline, and resilience—not just exam familiarity—iKnow Academic Hub can help. At iKnow Academic Hub, we believe smarter preparation builds stronger futures. Join our programs today and give your child the guidance they need to succeed in the PSHS-NCE and beyond.

Driving and Commuting: The Forces Behind Every Ride
Sat Nov 22 2025

Whether you’re riding a jeepney, driving a car, or sitting on a bus, every move on the road is governed by everyday physics. Acceleration, friction, and Newton’s Laws don’t just exist in textbooks—they’re the invisible rules that make travel possible. At iKnow Academic Hub, we help learners connect scientific principles to real experiences, turning every road trip into a moving classroom. Newton’s First Law: Why Seatbelts Save Lives Imagine you’re in a moving car that suddenly stops. Your body wants to keep moving forward—that’s inertia, described by Newton’s First Law of Motion: an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force. That “external force” is your seatbelt. Without it, your body would continue moving forward when the car stops, which is why seatbelts are vital—they provide the opposing force that prevents injury. This simple safety device is a real-life application of physics protecting millions of commuters every day. Newton’s Second Law: The Science of Acceleration Newton’s Second Law connects force, mass, and acceleration:F=maF = maF=ma This means the more massive a vehicle is, the more force it needs to accelerate—or to stop. That’s why a fully loaded bus takes longer to come to a stop than a motorcycle. When a driver steps on the gas pedal, the engine increases the net force, causing acceleration. When braking, frictional forces between the tires and the road act in the opposite direction, slowing the vehicle down. The same principle explains why overloading vehicles is unsafe—it increases mass and decreases control. Friction: The Force That Keeps Wheels Turning Friction is often seen as something that slows things down, but when it comes to driving, it’s what makes motion possible. The tires grip the road through static friction, allowing vehicles to accelerate and turn safely. If the road is wet or icy, friction decreases, which is why cars skid or lose control. Engineers design tire treads and braking systems with this physics in mind—proof that every safe ride is powered by science. Studies in transportation physics show that proper tire pressure and road texture dramatically affect stopping distance and stability . Centripetal Force: Turning Corners and Staying on Track Ever felt yourself being “pushed” to the side when a car turns? That’s not a real force—it’s your body’s inertia resisting the change in direction. What keeps the car turning safely is centripetal force, directed toward the center of the curve. Friction between the tires and the road provides this inward force, allowing vehicles to follow curved paths instead of skidding outward. The tighter the turn or the faster the car, the greater the centripetal force required. This is why drivers must slow down when turning—another everyday decision rooted in physics. The Hidden Forces in Every Commute When we break it down, every ride you take depends on: Inertia (Newton’s First Law) – Why you lurch forward when brakes are hit. Force and Acceleration (Newton’s Second Law) – Why heavier vehicles need more power. Friction – What lets tires grip the road and control speed. Centripetal Force – What keeps cars turning safely on curves. Each of these forces keeps commuters safe and moving smoothly—proof that everyday physics is what keeps our world in motion. Learning Motion That Moves the World At iKnow Academic Hub, we go beyond memorization. We help students see how the same physics that drives a car also drives innovation, safety, and progress. By connecting lessons to real-life motion, we inspire learners to think like scientists—and move like one. Because when you understand the forces behind every ride, you’re not just traveling the road—you’re mastering the science that builds it. The next time you accelerate, brake, or take a sharp turn, remember: you’re feeling the effects of Newton’s Laws in real time. From buses to bicycles, every ride is a story of physics at work. At iKnow Academic Hub, we believe smarter preparation builds stronger futures. Join our programs today and turn the forces of learning into the power to succeed. References: Pacejka, H. B. (2012).
