UPCAT 2026 Tips and Reminders: What You Need to Know
Mon Jul 14 2025

Preparing for the UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test) can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Here’s a quick and helpful guide to make sure you’re ready for test day and beyond.
✅ 1. Print and Prepare Your Test Permit
Make sure to print your test permit on 8.5 x 11-inch paper and check that all details, especially your photo, are clear and readable. Do not share screenshots or modify your permit in any way.
🗺️ 2. Know Your Testing Center
Visit your assigned testing center before exam day so you know how to get there. Avoid any last-minute stress by familiarizing yourself with the route.
📚 3. Study the Right Subjects
The UPCAT covers four key areas:
- Language Proficiency (English and Filipino)
- Science
- Mathematics
- Reading Comprehension (English and Filipino)
Study strategically and focus on your weak points!
🎒 4. Pack the Essentials
Bring the following items:
- Printed test permit
- Valid school or government-issued ID
- At least 2 sharpened pencils
- Eraser
- Snacks and water
- Face mask and sanitizer
- Optional: Jacket for cold testing rooms
👕 5. Dress Comfortably
Wear clothes that are comfortable and appropriate. Test rooms may vary in temperature, so layer if needed.
⏰ 6. Arrive Early
Be at the venue by:
- 6:00 AM for the morning session
- 12:00 PM for the afternoon session
The exam lasts about 5 hours, so manage your time and energy well.
🧠 7. Take Care of Yourself
- Stay healthy—the test cannot be rescheduled
- Eat well and get enough sleep
- Wear a face mask to protect yourself and others
- If you feel sick on the day, inform the examiner right away
🚫 8. Leave Unnecessary Items at Home
Cellphones, smartwatches, calculators, and other electronic devices are not allowed during the exam. Leave them with a companion or follow test personnel instructions.
📝 9. Practice Smart Test-Taking
- The UP Office of Admissions will provide a sample exam for practice
- Avoid blind guessing—it may not improve your score
📄 10. Submit Your Requirements After the Exam
Don’t forget the post-exam step! Submit the following:
- Form 1 and Form 2B via the UPCAT 2026 Online Application
- A certified true copy of your grades (Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 in hard copy)
- Submit to the UP Office of Admissions in UP Diliman, Quezon City
- All documents must be submitted on or before 25 August 2025 (important deadline!)
By staying prepared and following these reminders, you’ll be in the best position to succeed on your UPCAT journey. Good luck, Iskolar ng Bayan!
